1. What are cookies and how are they placed?

A cookie is a small file that stores certain information on your
access device (PC, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. When our website is accessed by the visitor's device, the server on our website can evaluate the information stored in the cookie in various ways.

BOM distinguishes between categories of cookies (see section 2) and types of cookies (see section 3). In section 4 of this statement, you can read how to delete cookies.

When using cookies, personal data is often collected as well. To obtain information about the personal data we collect via cookies and how we use this personal data, you can refer to our privacy statement. In our privacy policy, we also explain how and why we collect and use your personal data and which rights you can exercise in connection with the processing of your personal data.

2. Categories of cookies collected by BOM

a) Necessary cookies

These cookies are necessary for the functioning of the website. Without these cookies, certain parts cannot be used. Necessary cookies may be placed without your consent.

b) Analytical cookies

These cookies provide insight into how visitors use our website and are used to improve the website. These analytical cookies have little or no impact on visitor privacy. These mainly include cookies from Google Analytics.

c) Marketing cookies

These mainly include cookies used for marketing purposes, for instance, when we advertise on other websites, and cookies that allow users to promote, ("like") or share ("tweet") content on our website on social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter, among others, through buttons from these networks.

d) Other cookies

These cookies are used concerning 'script-tags' and 'page source lines'. They include a collection of HTML elements specifying which scripting language is used.

A complete overview of the cookies used by BOM can be requested through the aforementioned contact details.

3. Types of cookies collected by BOM

a) First-party cookies and third-party cookies

As a website administrator, BOM can place cookies on your device with your consent. Such cookies are also referred to as 'first-party cookies'. However, cookies can also be placed by third parties. In such cases, they are referred to as 'third-party cookies'.

b) Permanent cookies and temporary session cookies

With the help of a permanent cookie, we can recognize you during a new visit to our website. The website can, therefore, be specially set to your preferences. Also, when you have given consent for the placement of cookies, we can remember this through a cookie. This saves you time as you do not have to repeat your preferences continuously, making it easier to use our website.

With the help of a session cookie, we can see which parts of the website you viewed during that visit. We can thereby adjust our service as much as possible to the surfing behavior of our visitors. These cookies are automatically deleted when you close your web browser.

c) Google Analytics

A cookie from Google is placed on our website as part of the “Analytics” service. We use this service to track and get reports on how visitors use the website. Google may disclose this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so or to the extent third parties process the information on behalf of Google. We have no influence on this. We have not allowed Google to use the acquired analytics information for other Google services.

The information collected by Google is anonymized as much as possible. Your IP address is explicitly not provided. The information is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Concerning the transfer of cookie data, including personal data, to the United States, for example, in the framework of Google Analytics cookies, we emphasize the following. We are aware of the judgment of the EU Court of Justice of July 16, 2020, with implications for the transfer of personal data to the United States. We are currently investigating how we can best address this. When we have found an appropriate solution, we will inform you through this privacy statement.

d) Facebook and Twitter

Our website includes buttons to promote ("like") or share ("tweet") web pages on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. These buttons work through pieces of code originating from Facebook and Twitter, respectively. Cookies are placed and personal data is processed using this code. We have no influence on this. Read Facebook’s and Twitter's privacy statements (which may change regularly) to see what they do with your (personal) data processed via these cookies.

4. Deletion of cookies

More information about enabling and disabling and deleting cookies can be found in the instructions and/or through the Help function of your browser.

Some tracking cookies are placed by third parties. You can delete or block these cookies permanently through your browser settings.

You can download a plug-in from Google for this purpose. It is available for Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Opera. This setting will then apply to all the websites you visit, not just this website. https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=nl

5. Will this cookie statement be changed?

This cookie policy can be adjusted periodically to make changes and consequent implications for obtaining and managing data known. If there are changes made to this document, you can see when this happened last at the bottom of the page. We reserve the right to make changes in the way we handle data and to adjust the terms as described in the cookie policy and apply those changes to all your data.
