Na een voorselectie door experts en inzendingen door het publiek heeft de jury van de LEVEL UP Awards de veertig meestbelovende tech start-ups geselecteerd. De finale is op 30 september, maar stemmen voor de publieksprijs kan al vanaf nu. Stem hier op de startup van jouw keuze.
Tijdens het LEVEL UP event op 30 september wijst de jury de drie finalisten aan die vervolgens hun oplossing mogen pitchen voor honderden geïnteresseerden. Wie dat het meest overtuigend doet gaat aan de haal met de prijs, die onder meer bestaat uit een reis naar de Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas en een trip naar Silicon Valley. De organisatie van LEVEL UP is in handen van Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM), Braventure en The Gate.
Mede-organisator Jeroen van Woerden, directeur van The Gate, is trots op de veertig genomineerden. “De diversiteit is groot en wat ze allemaal verbindt is hun focus op de oplossing van de grote uitdagingen van vandaag. Wie er ook gaat winnen, ik weet zeker dat we van heel veel van deze deelnemers nog veel gaan horen.”

Stem nu voor de LEVEL UP Audience Award!
De winnaar van de publieksprijs krijgt een Startup IP Voucher van LIOC en een stand op CES Unveiled, het Nederlandse pre-event van CES Las Vegas.
Steuntje in de rug
LEVEL UP is ontstaan vanuit het besef dat startups een steuntje in de rug verdienen. Job Nijs, directeur van Braventure: “Het doorgroeien van startups naar scale-ups is cruciaal voor economische groei en werkgelegenheid en daarmee het toekomstig verdienvermogen van Nederland. Uit onderzoek van Deloitte en leiderschapsprogramma THNK blijkt dat slechts 1 op de 200 startups de scale-up fase bereikt. Dit benadrukt hoe uitdagend het is om een startup succesvol te laten groeien.”
Een event als LEVEL UP hoopt daaraan een bijdrage te leveren. Maar geld is ook altijd essentieel, benadrukt Brigit van Dijk-van de Reijt, CEO van Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM). “Startups hebben de juiste support nodig. De beschikbaarheid van voldoende fondsen is hiervoor onmisbaar. Publiek en privaat vraagt dit om een inbreng van miljarden euro’s.”
Jury
De drie beste startups pitchen hun bedrijven op het hoofdpodium van LEVEL UP, in een zaal met investeerders, mede-ondernemers en andere geïnteresseerden. Al een prijs op zich. De prestigieuze vakjury – bestaande uit Jeroen van Glabbeek (CM.com), Simone Brummelhuis (Borski Fund) en Kathleen Philips (imec) – kiest vervolgens de winnaar, die er met een indrukwekkende prijs vandoor gaat. De winnende startup sluit namelijk met twee personen aan bij de 4TU-delegatie voor een exclusieve trip naar CES Las Vegas – the global stage for innovation, Palo Alto en San Francisco. De winnaar van de publieksprijs krijgt een Startup IP Voucher van LIOC. Ook de runners up worden niet vergeten. Zij krijgen net als de winnaars van beide awards een stand op CES Unveiled, het Nederlandse pre-event van CES Las Vegas.
